My picks for Jane’s Addiction bass player on Record #4
1.) Michael Angelos from Plexi – The dude writes great songs.
2.) Roger Waters from Pink Floyd – Call him up and ask him what could it hurt?
3.) Tony Breit from Lenny Kravitz band – Listen to “Is there any Love in your Heart”
4.) Duff McKagan from Guns N’ Roses – great bass player but too straight up rock and roll. Jane’s need some 60’s feel bass lines in my fucked up opinion.
5.) Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath – Is this guy still alive? If so, call him up.
6.) John Paul Jones – Them Crooked Vultures is a little bit of let down isn’t? They lacked a killer lead guitarist. Still he’s the greatest rock bass player of all time.
7.) Flea from the Red Hot Chilipeppers – Too obvious.
8.) Robert DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots – He’s got that 60’s vibe.
9.)
10.) Chris Chaney – Amazing but we’ve already heard that line-up.
In amongst the speculation and the criticism of whatever y’all do next, a thought occurred that i meant to share right back when the NME awards show was mentioned, and that (initially), you, Perk and Perry were going as a unit – first thought as a fan was “Great, wonder if we might get another tour?” but mainly given the history 2004 – 07 “cool, some people who were hating have obviously stopped hating”. The fact that you could all (and then including Avery too, how cool was that?) be in the same room together, with some grinning going on, after all the hating we read about so much, makes the world a better place, regardless of whether you dirty the JA legacy with another not-quite-as-iconic-as-it was-back-in-the-day album or just hang it up and go your separate ways. Respect for the end of hate. And, btw, a below parr Jane’s album will still be preferable to all the autotuned warbling infecting the airways these days, so good luck in there guys..
Yeah, I know you probably don’t read anything here no more, but Twitter ain’t for me…
