(Got asked to do this car thing, but of course I’ll share it with you first!)
“I write a regular column for Motor Trend online called Celebrity Drive, I ask 4 car questions (What is your current car and how would you rate it? What is your fave road trip or drive? What was the car you learned to drive in? What was the first car bought?)”
1. My current car is the Dodge Challenger SRT8. If I was to rate it between 1-10 this car would get a 15! I have NEVER been so utterly in love with ANY car. I’ve been driving my Challenger for about 6-7 months and EVERY time I see it, I say to myself, “Holy f@#k that is bad ass!” The ONLY draw back is that it sparks the interest of too many car enthusiasts and I get stuck answering questions about it to strangers everyday. I suppose that is a consequence but I am willing to deal with it. I have added some Mopar after market items and chrome rims to this all-black piece of machinery but there really isn’t much that needs to be done. It comes from the factory pretty ‘insane’. Oh yeah, I have the windows tinted illegally dark so it looks even meaner. I have gotten stopped by the cops for that but they have let me go with a warning. I guess they fall in love with it too. Stripping away the tint would be like asking a gorgeous woman to eat a bag of Oreos before walking a red carpet and asking her to smile for the camera.
2. I’m not much of a road trip guy. My favorite drive is a cold weather, late night run down Sunset Blvd. when all of the morons who can’t drive are at home in bed. Sure, I speed and go WAY too fast but it’s pretty impossible to not with the mist and fog out there, begging for something un-natural to disturb it’s morning creep. The headlights take on the glow of laser beams as they cut through the moisture in the air. Yeah, I’m pretty romantic about it. (BTW I Do not condone or suggest speeding. It is a ‘problem’ I have and I am working on it.)
3. I learned to drive in an old Toyota Celica back when they were new and sleek and fierce. Not long after learning how to drive, I wrecked the poor thing out of sheer irresponsibility, flying down Mulholland. I ended up creating an unintentional piece of Modern Art when I embedded the Celica into a mountain overlooking the valley below. So much for that! As they say, when you fall off a horse… However, I guess when you fall off a horse, you don’t usually risk the lives of others and yourself. OK lesson learned… Kind of
4. The first NEW car I ever purchased was the BMW 850. God, I loved that car! I actually miss seeing them around as they really never made them for very long. As I am with most cars, I tired of it relatively quick and ended up in a Mercedez. Both were amazing but lacked that extra bit of uniqueness and edge my Challenger has. The good news about the Challenger is that it hasn’t become the new Mustang which was a concern when I got it. I assumed we’d be seeing them EVERYWHERE but that fortunately hasn’t been the case.

A co-worker also has the Challenger and she loves it. Me thinks that you should post a pic of your actual car so we can see and drool.
Will you be speedy and romantic with me if I get ‘dewy’? ;D
What a beautiful car, A few days ago I saw a dark grey Challenger with two pink racing stripes…It was sooo pretty.
BMW and Mercedez….How come never a muscle car like a Corvette, Porsche or even a Challenger..
I love me muscle cars…Mar laughs because we’ll be driving down the street and I will see an old muscle care and most of the time I am able to name the year, make and model and she will comment something like..”Your such a Dyke” ha ha.
Have a great weekend Pops!
Geeze, I should read before posting..muscle care…what a dummy.
My favourite car is called Christine and she was/is dangerous. She was eventually chopped up in some factory somewhere, but a hunk of the remains of her metal bit someone on the arm who works there apparantly so she’ll be back probably, metamorphised into another vehicle, or even a small childs tricycle.
Just something to bear in mind if ever you consider buying a small child a tricycle as a present. I think two wheeler bikes would be okay, tricycles would be more her thing to posess, my psychic connection with her is telling me.
Good article, but in case you want to know if there are any mistakes, on number 2. you put to fast instead of too. Beautiful car, I understand why you would want the windows tinted.
totally agree with the first comment: let us see your actual car so that we can drool and go in peace =)
I took one of these gals out for a spin! OR should I say she spun me..LOL the tork and horsepower is INSANE!!! And yet such a thrill. At one point I have to admit I was a little scared and backed it down. What fun.
alone…the fresh cool air caressing my face…freedom…the smell of citrus and mixed flowers in the california air…yes, it is romantic and is also my favorite time to drive..to be alone with my thoughts and feel purely refreshened…the best!
You’ve got taste and I love speed….take me for a ride sometime, loverboy?
